On the morning of 29 November 2018, a delegation from SEGi University, Malaysia, led by Vice-Chancellor Norman Chu visited ZCFE. Following discussions on potential areas of collaboration, the two institutions signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), marking a further step in the college’s internationalisation efforts.
The signing ceremony took place in a meeting room on the second floor of Building A. The visiting delegation included Vice-Chancellor Norman Chu; Wong Chee Mun, Director of International Affairs at SEGi University; and Liu Guoqing, Director of the Malaysia Study-Abroad Centre.
Representing Zhengzhou College of Finance and Economics were Chairman Niu Qinmin, President Yu Xiangying, Executive Vice-President Li Qingyang, Wang Yanzhen, Director of International Affairs, and Wang Chen, Deputy Director of the college’s Administration Office. Wang Yanzhen chaired the ceremony.
President Yu Xiangying welcomed the delegation. During the discussions, the two sides reached a broad consensus on academic collaboration, visits by senior institutional leaders, doctoral study opportunities for faculty members, overseas study programmes for students, and summer study tours.
Vice-Chancellor Norman Chu introduced SEGi University’s history, academic programmes and international outlook. He highlighted shared interests between the two institutions and the potential for cooperation across a range of academic activities.
President Yu Xiangying and Vice-Chancellor Norman Chu signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions. Chairman Niu Qinmin and Vice-Chancellor Norman Chu then exchanged gifts, followed by group photographs.
During the visit, the delegation also attended the college’s English Corner, where they answered students’ questions about academic programmes, tuition fees and admission requirements.
The MoU provides a framework for future collaboration between the two institutions. It is intended to broaden international opportunities for faculty and students and support the college’s development as a high-quality, application-oriented undergraduate institution with a distinctive educational profile.
